Sewing Circle

The featured embroidery artist for December is anonymous, but quite talented! Take a look at the beautiful Noel cross stitch and share your comments.

To the Point

The Noel cross stitch featured on the homepage uses filled letters. Alphabets with large letters can be used like this for cross stitch, blackwork, punch needle, or needlepoint. If you want to make smaller letters with curving lines, use the backstitch or chain stitch as commonly found in crewel embroidery. Or learn how to make your own cross stitch alphabets for personalizing gifts.

Words of Wisdom

"Buttons and patches and the cold wind blowing, The days pass quickly when I am sewing." ~Author Unknown

Find of the Month

I once again have two special free holiday patterns to share. First, there are some fun Christmas tree transfers that are appropriate for a variety of embroidery methods. And secondly, here's a cute little .pdf jingle bells cross stitch pattern from Herrshners. Happy Holidays!

You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you.
