Sewing Circle

This month's featured embroidery is a Siamese cat pillow by designer Helen Marble. Her granddaughter Andrea is keeping her needlework legacy alive. Thanks for sharing the photo with us! This pillow is done in crewelwork, which is perfect (purrfect?) since the cat looks a little cruel towards the fly.

You can help make the Embroidery Methods website even better by sharing photos of your projects and the stories about how and why you made them.

To the Point

I promised a big surprise announcement this month. Today is the special date! Are you ready?

I'm unveiling another brand new website that will be of interest to many of you: www.yarn-methods.com

There you will find more about knitting, crochet, spinning, and weaving. There are lots of links to free patterns, and you can share your project photos. Enjoy!

Words of Wisdom

"In Seattle you haven't had enough coffee until you can thread a sewing machine while it's running." ~ Jeff Bezos

Find of the Month

Here's a lovely autumn needlepoint landscape worked in the longstitch. The .pdf file has great instructions and photos. The long satin stitch is easy and fun to do because the picture fills in so fast. The hardest part will be tracing the diagram onto the canvas, but it's not so bad if you have a good felt tip pen.

You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you.
