Sewing CircleThis is definitely going to be an exciting year for me. Did you notice the bell pattern on the blog? I'm engaged! There is so much to plan for moving and the wedding. I do not know the date for sure yet. I do know that I will make some handmade items for the wedding attire! Do you have any wedding advice for me?January's featured needlework on the homepage is a hedgehog cross stitch key fob by Julie Cartwright from Cheshire in the United Kingdom. You can actually make the hedgehog pincushion spiky with your needles. Isn't it adorable? I love it! You need an even grid to work on, so buy some special cross stitch fabric or crochet a base. You can use yarn to do the cross stitching if you want a really fast and easy project. Remember to use a blunt tip needle.Last year someone asked a question about what to do for the reverse side of an afghan. Try to keep it as neat as possible, and make sure the threads are tightly secured if the afghan is going to receive a lot of use. If you have words on your afghan, the wrong side with the words in reverse will rarely be inspected. Words of Wisdom"If I stitch fast enough, does it count as aerobic exercise?" ~ Author UnknownFind of the MonthI found a cute Let It Snow cross stitch that you can make into a pincushion or use as a winter doorknob hanging. Or perhaps it would fit on an afghan to drape over the sofa? You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions.
