Sewing CircleOnce again we are featuring Artvani's embroidery on the homepage. Have you seen this ring of ribbon embroidery flowers that she made? Amazing!Reminder: Subscribe to the Embroidery Blog for the most up to date news and website additions. www.embroidery-methods.com/sign-up To the PointThere's no reason your pets can't enjoy your embroidery talents, too. If you want to make an embroidered dog collar, try using waste canvas to create a grid. Of course you don't need anything other than a sharp needle to do crewel embroidery, but waste canvas is helpful for doing cross stitch. It will keep the design evenly spaced. You carefully pull the canvas threads out when you're finished stitching and no one knows it was ever there!Words of Wisdom"If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then giving Fido only two of them." ~ Phil PastoretFind of the MonthI favor dog embroidery, but here's an adorable 1950s task a day towel set with a kitty cat pattern. Use crewel embroidery in your favorite colors. You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you. Amy DeVries |
