Sewing Circle

The featured embroidery artist for October is Kathryn from Salt Lake City, Utah. Her mother made an inspirational quilt for her with an embroidered message of hope and love. What a great idea!

To the Point

Some people are enjoying area Renaissance festivals and getting ready for Halloween, so you might be looking for a cross stitch dragon pattern. The easiest thing is to be your own pattern maker and develop a pattern from an image. Choose a simple one and follow the steps to pixilate it with photo editing software. Or you can buy PC Stitch which is a software program specifically designed to create cross stitch patterns.

Words of Wisdom

A handmade blanket warms the body and comforts the soul.

Find of the Month

I received a request for more free huck embroidery patterns, so here's one I found for an autumn huck towel by Christina Sherrod . You don't have to use fall colors, but they do look nice with the row of leaves.

You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you.
