| Greetings! Sew Many Threads to Follow, One Monthly Newsletter March 10, 2011Table of Contents
Sewing CircleI'm still cleaning out my embroidery supplies, so this month's contest is to win a huck embroidery towel kit! Whoever submits a photo of huck embroidery (also known as Swedish weaving) during the month of March is eligible to win a huck embroidery towel kit. I will choose the winner myself based on how pretty your photo is, the quality of the comments it receives, and the quality of the comments you leave for others. The featured artist for March is Hala from Palestine. She has made some amazing cross stitch bags and more. My favorite is the rainbow colored quilt motif that I posted on the homepage. Reminder: Subscribe to the Embroidery Blog for the most up to date news and website additions. www.embroidery-methods.com/sign-up To the PointRemember there are two types of machine embroidery: free motion and pre-designed. Free motion embroidery can be done on almost any basic sewing machine. If you are using the pre-designed style, you will need a special machine that can read files. Different brands require different file extensions. The most widely accepted is .PES but you should always check carefully to make sure that the designs you want are compatible with your embroidery machine. Take a look at the questions to ask when shopping for a used embroidery machine.Words of Wisdom"I keep my end tables full of needlework and quilting so I don't have to dust them." ~ Author UnknownFind of the MonthTo provide you with some inspiration for entering this month's contest, here is a free huck embroidery pattern you can use on huck cloth or monks cloth. What will you make? You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think!
