Greetings!

Sew Many Threads to Follow, One Monthly Newsletter

I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday bonus patterns I sent out on Thanksgiving. Loyal readers received several free patterns including a silk ribbon poinsettia, punchneedle candy cane, and huck embroidery star. I apologize for the extra space in the link. At least it was a chance to show you that I read and respond to everyone's emails! Janet said she will use the ribbon poinsettia on candles, and Annemiek said she will use the cross stitch Christmas tree for cards. Maureen is going to try blackwork with her beginner group. What are you working on right now? If you missed out, make sure you are receiving and reading my email newsletters for future bonuses!

** If you like this e-zine, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward."

Sewing Circle
The Cyber Fyber exhibition will take place from January 8-20, 2009 at Gallery 80808, Vista Studios in Columbia, SC. Susan Lenz has designed this exhibit to focus on the supportive, global community of fiber artists using Internet websites and blogs. The goal is to highlight the influences of internet access for today's artists. The exhibition will include Fiber ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), fiber postcards, and display the work of several invited artists. The exhibition will also include Fiber Day on January 10 and ATC trading day on January 17.

So why am I telling you all of this now? Because you may still have a chance to become involved in trading cards through the Internet! See Susan Lenz's Cyber Fyber blog to keep track of what's going on as the event approaches.

To the Point
'Tis the season for holiday bargains and sales. If you're thinking about buying an embroidery machine as a gift for yourself or someone else, please see these guidelines for choosing one that will meet your needs. You may not need a fancy computerized machine if all you want to do is free motion embroidery.

Words of Wisdom
Remember: The Trojans didn't look the gift horse in the mouth either.

Find of the Month
For those of you who do use the automatic machines, here's a cool pair of ornaments. I love the optical illusion with the pattern that actually makes them look round! There's a green and red ornament or a silver and blue ornament. They come in a variety of file types for download, so they should be compatible with any machine.

You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you.

The most interesting feedback will be shared in next month's issue!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy Stitching,
Amy Conaway
