Sewing Circle
The redwork exhibit at the Michigan State University museum runs through the end of the year. Click to read more about redwork then visit the exhibit online to take a look at some photos of redwork quilts. There's a podcast audio tour of the exhibit available, too, so you can hear explanations of the pieces and history!

To the Point
Are you giving homemade gifts this year? I am, but I'm not saying anymore about it because I don’t want to spoil the surprises! I can tell you what I've making for our own tree: a Hardanger heart ornament. Take a look at my photo. It was my first time trying Hardanger embroidery, and I really like how it turned out. I used a kit available from ALC Unlimited that included everything: fabric, flosses, needles, and instructions.

Words of Wisdom
It is far better to give than to receive.

Find of the Month
I have two gifts I found this month. First, here's a blackwork reindeer in a wreath that says Noel. Isn't he cute? (And it reminds me of my newest relative, little Kira Noel!) Secondly, here's a pattern for a cross stitch star of David that can be used as printed with the Hebrew letter or without it if you just want a star.

You're Invited: Please share your stitching stories, ideas, words of wisdom, find of the month, or questions. Just reply to this newsletter and tell me what you think! I'd love to hear from you.

The most interesting feedback will be shared in next month's issue!

Happy Stitching,
Amy Conaway
