Crewel Embroidery Gallery

Welcome to the online art gallery for crewel embroidery! Please take a look at what others are stitching and share your own favorite project that you made. These hand embroidery patterns primarily use embroidery stitches such as the backstitch, satin stitch, French knot, chain stitch, and their variations.

If you would like to contribute, please share a photo of your favorite creation and tell us about it. The pattern can be from coloring books or embroidery kits. It doesn't matter. Just describe where you got the idea, why you chose to stitch it, the types of thread you used, and any special challenges you ran into while you were working on the project.

In addition, if you mention the types of patterns you like to stitch, such as Native American or Jacobean, maybe others can recommend some pattern ideas to you. And please jump in to comment on what others have made to share your own hand embroidery pattern recommendations!
