Dimensional Embroidery

I have done this embroidery using Brazilian embroidery stitches.I could not get Rayon threads at my place. I have used Anchor pearl cotton thread. Is it true that embroidery done using rayon threads is called Brazilian embroidery? Is there any rule that the embroidery done with the same stitches of the Brazilian embroidery using different thread should not be called Brazilian embroidery? Please clarify me.

Yes there's a difference

Have a look at my latest blog post. As Lakshmi said, you can use cone threads and silk -- they are the closest to rayon.

Vani you can use cone threads which are exactly look alike Lola of rayon threads. Rayon threads used in BE are of Z-twist. I didn't find much difference between cone in lola.. You can check my blog where I have posted 2 roses with these threads.

It's Pretty
by: Amy from embroidery-methods.com

Traditionally, Brazilian embroidery uses rayon threads for at least some parts like the flower petals. Maybe you would just call it dimensional embroidery if you're using those stitches and cotton. I say who cares? I call it very pretty!
