Embroidery Wreath 2009
Ok, so I'm not asking myself for help (at least not today), but I really wanted to share my embroidery wreath with you. Perhaps it will be of help to someone if you're looking for long-term storage for some bobbins of floss!
I made this embroidery wreath for the Carroll County Arts Council's annual Festival of Wreaths. It's a silent auction that helps them raise funds to stay in operation and offer classes.
As you can see in the photo, the border is made of embroidery floss bobbins that I strung on a wire. The center is backed with a large folded piece of green aida cloth. I actually bought the bobbins and aida cloth on eBay!
The "Happy Stitching" sign in the middle is a needle case that I assembled and embroidered myself using the crewel technique. The purple paper at the bottom is a certificate for a free pattern.
