Flower Basket

Recently I came across silk ribbon embroidery (SRE) and was amazed by its beauty. Not only was it gorgeous, it was easy, too. I am a grandmom and now find it difficult to do fine embroidery as it strains my eyes, but SRE was perfect for me.

This flower basket is my original design worked on jute material. I made the basket first and filled it up with flowers and leaves.

Since I am a self-taught beginner in SRE I have used basic stitches like the split stitch, ribbon stitch, straight stitch, and french knots.

I hope to make more projects in SRE as I am totally hooked!
