Sewing around a Corner

I know how to embroidery for the most part but sewing around a corner is another story. It always looks like it is pulling in towards the center. How can I avoid this and let it look the way it is suppose to, not pulling in to the middle?

Amy's Answer
What type of embroidery are you trying to do? Are you doing the backstitch in crewel embroidery? The thicker overlapping side does always have a little lean to it, so the corners will appear rounded. You can try to stop it from curling too much by adding a tiny couching sitich right at the corner to pin it down in place where it would look nice.
