Starting Huck Weaving

How do I start my first stitch? Since it is all worked on top and usually started in the middle of the piece, a knot sure can't be made to hold the first stitch. Would a back stitch be used? I may just have to start from the end and work to the other end until I learn. Meanwhile though, I'll continue to look at all the beautiful ideas on this site and try other new things. I found this site while desperately trying to learn more about Huck weaving. I found alot more that I ever thought available for embroidery which I also love. This site is very useful, and I can't wait to check it all out completely!
Amy's AnswerThank you, Debi! I really appreciate the feedback. Did you see this page?
Huck Weaving Stitches On there I describe about how to get started. You just start in the middle of the towel, make sure it's the middle of the thread, and go. Hold the long tail as you pull the stitches tight so that it doesn't go through.
Huck embroidery always starts in the middle because otherwise it will pull the fabric out of shape so that it tilts to one side.
I hope that helps, and thanks again!
