Stitches are Unravelling

by Melissa

Hi, I use a Brother PR620 (Semi Industrial Machine). It is 12 months old and in the past few weeks I have had issues with my stitches (in particular satin stitches) unravelling. I have checked to ensure the tie-offs are all there and have also changed the tie-off settings to increase stitch numbers and to finish in a star shape lock; however, they are still unravelling. It appears that when the stitches have finished, it isn't knotting the thread underneath. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, I don't have a Brother machine, so I don't know. I suggest you try the Brother Support Center and see if they have any advice or can recommend a repair shop in your area.

Stop your stitches unravelling!
by: Rachel

Dear Melissa,

I have experienced a similar problem with my 620C, especially when sewing text. I have waited in vain for Brother to get back to me with a solution (in fact the consultant I spoke to had no idea how to help) and was very surprised to find the answer is a very simple one.

If you look up lock stitching in the glossary of your manual the first page reference shows you where to find the lock icon on the editing screen and the second page reference will give you instructions on how to the activate the locking stitches at the start and finish of each letter or design.

Hope this helps!
