White Thread from Bobbin Showing

White thread from bobbin showing through color on top

I was given a used Brother SE-270D. I was doing some of the pre-programmed embroidery patterns and all of a sudden the colored thread from the top got all entangled around and under the bobbin. So I cleaned that all out, re-did the bobbin, rethreaded the needle. And now ever since, the white thread from the bobbin is coming thru into the color everytime I try to do embroidery. What could be wrong? I am new at this and learning on my own.

You need to adjust the machine tension. When the tension is too loose on the lower bobbin or too tight on top, the threads show through. You need to adjust them to the right balance which can change depending on the thread thicknesses with each project you do. Your tension changed settings when you untangled it and cleaned it out. Try making adjustments and running test samples like the little flower in your photo until it looks right.

This is a common problem, so I'm sure you can figure it out and get back to embroidering soon!
